Royal Mead, Bath
Complete CAT A refurbishment of a 1990s office building in the centre of Bath to create 3,800sqm of Grade A office accommodation.
Sonnemann Toon Architects were lead designer from concept to completion and the project was traditionally procured. The sensitive site location in a UNESCO World Heritage Site required a careful approach to town and country planning.
The tired office building was transformed into a contemporary, low energy, bright, modern property with high levels of connectivity and class leading facilities. The most significant impact was to the atrium which included bespoke timber cladding, new finishes throughout, frameless balustrading and a feature green wall. New glazing throughout and a comprehensive lighting and acoustic package enhanced the base build significantly.
