Wellington Hospital AAU, London NW8

The Wellington Hospital’s new branding was implemented with great success in the design for the new main entrance and Acute Assessment Unit. The tired 1980s interior has been transformed with a palette of fresh contrasting colours and bespoke fittings with strong, clean lines. Visitor pathways and patient privacy have been greatly improved in the new layout.

The new Assessment Unit can cater for a variety of treatment requirements. Six intensive / high dependency care rooms are equipped with smart glass privacy control and medical pendants. Four rooms have been designed to mimic standard inpatient bedrooms with en-suites whilst providing an increased level of infection control and medical equipment support for higher dependency.

Construction was phased over 18 weeks, with the entrance area works carried out in phases over the Christmas period to minimize impact on the operational hospital.
